Early summer is a special time for us, everything opens up outdoors. The mountain lifts switch to summer operation, the first alpine huts welcome their guests, and the moor bath shimmers invitingly in the sunshine. Cowbells echo through the valleys, the air smells of fresh grass, and colorful alpine flowers bring the mountains to life.

What makes us especially happy right now? Riding the lift up, letting the view widen, walking along high trails and feeling how thoughts begin to feel lighter. Stopping at an alpine hut, a piece of cheese bread in hand, cowbells ringing nearby: this is summer in Oberstdorf at its most authentic.

And afterwards? A refreshing dip in the moor bath or back to Alma. Feet up, soul at ease, simply enjoying that everything is open.

Diesen Winter sind wir so viel draußen wie selten zuvor. Schon vor Weihnachten hat Frau Holle ihre Betten kräftig geschüttelt, seitdem hüllt Schnee unsere Berge ein, und dank der klaren, kalten Tage bleiben Loipen, Pisten und Winterwege wunderbar in Form.

Dazu schenkt uns die Sonne seit Wochen fast täglich ihr Strahlen. Das macht etwas mit einem: Jeder Tag lädt ein, lange draußen zu sein, durch die weiß glitzernde Landschaft zu ziehen und diese besondere Stille zu spüren, die nur der Winter kennt.

Ob auf den Ski, in der Loipe oder beim Rodeln, wir können uns selbst oft nicht entscheiden. Morgens die frische Ruhe auf den Pisten, nachmittags ein paar Kilometer auf der sonnigen Loipe- so fühlt sich ein Wintertag rund an.

Und das Beste: Hier in Oberstdorf warten gerade 117 Pistenkilometer, 22 km Loipen und rund 140 km Winterwanderwege darauf, entdeckt zu werden.

Langsam zieht der Herbst ins Oberstdorfer Tal ein, für uns kein Abschied vom Sommer, sondern der Beginn einer besonderen Zeit in den Bergen.

An sonnigen Tagen schnüren wir die Wanderschuhe, fahren noch einmal in kurzer Hose auf die Berge und genießen das Farbenspiel der Wälder. Auf den Alpen spürt man die Ruhe der Natur, unten im Tal lockt das fröhliche Treiben beim Viehscheid, wenn die Kühe nach rund hundert Tagen zurückkehren, ihre Glocken klingeln und die Luft voller Leben ist.

Für uns im Alma Hotel ist der Herbst eine Einladung: raus in die Natur, Sonne tanken, Farben sehen und die klare Bergluft spüren. Ein Moment, um Kraft zu sammeln, bewusst zu genießen und einfach da zu sein.

Wir lieben unser Fahrrad. Nicht nur, weil es schnell, leise und umweltfreundlich ist, sondern weil es uns die Freiheit gibt, Oberstdorf in unserem Tempo zu entdecken – ohne Auto, ohne Hektik.

Von der Haustür aus rollen wir los: vorbei an blühenden Wiesen, über sanfte Hügel und entlang klarer Bäche. Jede Kurve, jede Abfahrt lässt uns die Natur spüren, die Berge riechen, die Sonne auf der Haut. Mit dem Rad bist du mitten im Leben, kommst an Orte, die zu Fuß weit wären, und genießt trotzdem Ruhe und Weite.

Ob gemütlich oder sportlich, mit dem E-Bike oder klassisch: Wer einmal Oberstdorf auf zwei Rädern erlebt hat, weiß, dass Auto hier oft überflüssig ist.

Unsere Heimat Oberstdorf liegt uns sehr am Herzen. Deshalb handeln wir in unserem Alma Hotel bewusst und verantwortungsvoll, mit Respekt für die Natur, in der wir leben.

Wir vermeiden wir Lebensmittelverschwendung und kaufen bei regionalen Produzenten in kleinen Mengen ein.

Wir sparen Energie und heizen unsere Sauna nur auf Anfrage.

Wir vermeiden, recyceln, trennen Müll und bei uns gibt es nur Glasflaschen.

Wir sparen Wasser und waschen deine Handtücher nach Bedarf.

Darüber hinaus engagieren wir uns gemeinsam mit der Stiftung Allgäuer Hochalpen: Wenn du einen Tag auf den Zimmerservice verzichtest, spenden wir dafür. Die Stiftung fördert Naturschutz, Landschaftspflege und das heimische Brauchtum – für eine lebendige Kulturlandschaft, gesunde Tier- und Pflanzenarten und den Erhalt natürlicher Lebensräume.

So sorgen wir gemeinsam dafür, dass unsere Natur erhalten bleibt – für uns, für dich und für kommende Generationen.

Im Tal zeigt sich schon der Frühling: Schneeglöckchen und Krokusse strecken ihre Köpfe aus der Erde, Bäche gluckern und die Sonne wärmt die Wiesen.

Auf den Bergen lockt dagegen noch der Winter mit perfekt präparierten Pisten und glitzerndem Schnee. Besonders an sonnigen Tagen ist es ein Genuss: oben angenehm mild, nicht mehr klirrend kalt, mit fantastischem Blick über die weißen Gipfel.

Das Schönste daran: du musst dich nicht entscheiden. Vormittags auf der Piste, nachmittags durch das blühende Tal wandern – zwei Jahreszeiten an einem Tag, nur jetzt möglich.

Im Alma beginnt der Tag mit einem frischen, regionalen Frühstück, endet nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag in der kleinen Sauna und dazwischen: unkompliziert, familiär, gemütlich. Egal ob für ein Wochenende oder ein paar Tage mehr.

Seit dem 1. Januar 2024 startet das Alma Hotel in eine neue Generation. Meine Eltern übergeben das Haus an mich, Katharina, und gemeinsam mit meinem Mann Aric werden wir das Alma weiterführen.

Was uns bewegt? Oberstdorf. Die Berge, die klare Luft, die Natur, die jeden Tag ein kleines Abenteuer schenkt. Wir lieben es, hier zu leben, die Jahreszeiten bewusst zu erleben und dir einen Ort zu bieten, an dem du durchatmen, zur Ruhe kommen und gleichzeitig aktiv sein kannst.

Wir freuen uns darauf, dich für die Schönheit unserer Heimat zu begeistern. Auf Wanderungen durch stille Täler, Sonnenmomente auf den Gipfeln, barfuß in einem Bergbach oder beim gemütlichen Frühstück auf der Alma-Terrasse. Bei uns kannst du Natur, Bergzeit und echte Herzlichkeit erleben.
